Safety assessment of Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, MA

Public

This project sought to identify any potential safety issues concerning current traffic conditions on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, MA. Through a detailed analysis of existing conditions, current and projected volume counts, turning movement counts and accident data, the design team was able to establish several alternatives for improving the safety of the street. Combined with their estimated costs and cost-to-benefit ratio, this analysis led to the recommendation for new pavement markings, increased signage, and updated signal timings along Shrewsbury Street.
