The General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) Gear Plant in Lynn, Massachusetts is unable to account for shop costs for each of its various production functions, called Engine Lines and Areas. The system in place was not easy to access and generated inaccurate unconsolidated data. We assessed the current system, and developed a new system as part of our MIS MQP. The new system was developed in Access2000 and calculated necessary costs and allowed users to accurately bid for tenders.
