RSS-based localization for sensor networks using ZigBee

Public

ZigBee is a new technology for implementation of sensor networks; its indoor geolocation capabilities are unknown. This Major Qualifying Project evaluates the performance of ZigBee sensor networks when implemented for RSS-based indoor geolocation. A testbed for ZigBee localization was developed after extensive research, testing, and channel modeling. Using the testbed, four localization algorithms have been evaluated in LOS and OLOS scenarios. The results provide for empirical quantitative performance evaluation of a ZigBee sensor network when it is used for localization.
