Workpiece modeling with manufacturing features

Público

Manufacturing processes can be modeled as the process of removing volumes of materials from the workpiece blank model in sequence and forming the geometry of the final product. The volumes of the material can be modeled as manufacturing computerized features and their combinations. In manufacturing planning, computerized NC programming, and fixture design, there is a need for constructing the workpiece model with manufacturing information. Therefore, a manufacturing feature database and manipulation tool needed to be developed. In this project, a program was developed with the interface of Pro/Toolkit for Pro/Engineer, to develop a program that would allow this manipulation to work with a solid modeling CAD program. The program will allow any user to add manufacturing feature information to a solid model black workpiece.
