The purpose of this project was to design, construct, and validate a physical model of a PVD TBC chamber. The model was calibrated and data was gathered by means of a light meter and photocells attached to rotating samples. Once the model duplicated the plate coated in the chamber, tests were conducted on the rotating samples, the results of which proved the model is a valid representation of the coater, and thus can be used to predict further experimental results.
