These migrants often congregate in squatter settlements, living in substandard conditions. Attempts to improve their quality of life often trigger increased in-migration, overwhelming the city's resources and degrading quality of life. This project uses system dynamics to model quality of life policies in developing countries. By combining urban upgrading, rural "pull", and city zoning, quality of life was sustained for the squatters and throughout the city. %9 Major Qualifying Project %~ Digital WPI %W WPI
