Fitting new matrix seating system to the compound curvature of patients

Public

"Matrix" modular components are used to make custom contoured wheelchair seats. The components have recently undergone major design changes to increase the strength of the overall structure. Despite these changes, the material still had one fundamental problem; conforming Matrix to patients required the insertion of large numbers of non-standard links. This added hours to the fitting time, but through careful analysis and redesign this project presents a solution that eliminates the need for irregular links and reduces the fitting time dramatically.
