Chitosan particles produced by electrospinning

Chitosan is a polysaccharide that has been used in many biomedical applications such as wound dressing, drug delivery, and scaffolds for tissue engineering. The objectives of this work were to produce sub-micron chitosan particles by electrospinning. The experiments examined the effects of temperature, concentration, needle size, and voltage on size, shape, and morphology of the chitosan particles. A concentration of 0.01 g/ml and a voltage of 30kV were used to produce chitosan particles as small as 300nm.
