A CD-ROM-based, interactive, multimedia learning tool to help prepare chemical engineering seniors for the Unit Operations laboratory was produced. Background material and equipment descriptions were provided for these labs; oxygen mass transfer in a fermentor, membrane separations and the packed tower. The learning tool was tested on junior and senior chemical engineering students and will be used in future course offerings.
