A mechanistic study of the inhibition of beta amyloid production by protease inhibitors in a whole cell model

Public

This project examined the mechanisms responsible for the inhibition of beta-amyloid production by protease inhibitors in a whole cell model. Dose-dependency curves were created for eight potent protease inhibitors and the inhibition patterns for both A1-40 and A1-42 were studied. Results indicated that a single -secretase was responsible for the cleavage of A and the project revealed eight potential leads in the AstraZeneca drug screening project.
