Accuracy of the LeadCare system in wild birds

Público

Lead poisoning is an important environmental concern to humans as well as wildlife animals. A new method for detecting blood lead levels designed for human use that saves both time and money, the LeadCare System, may also be a valuable tool for lead detection in wildlife. Blood samples from wild birds tested by both the LeadCare System and the gold standard graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry method were compared and statistically determined to be clinically accurate.
