Design and Testing of Rotational Speed Sensor with Zero Latency for Unmanned Ground Vehicle
Public DepositedThis report presents the work of development and testing of a zero-latency rotational speed sensor designed for unmanned ground vehicles, focusing on overcoming the limitations of conventional wheel speed sensors that exhibit signal acquisition latency. The project includes the creation of CAD models, simulation using Ansys Maxwell, design and manufacturing of mechanical components, and assembly and testing on a test vehicle. Through novel spiral sensor design and multi-physics based simulation, the project aims to enhance vehicle stability systems by providing immediate sensor feedback, crucial for navigating challenging terrains and conditions. The report details the mathematical models, simulation processes, CAD modeling, 3D printing, electrical circuit design, experimental setup, and results analysis, highlighting the potential impact on future autonomous vehicle mobility and safety systems.
