The possible future of the Chinese manned space program
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis paper examines the previous achievements of the Chinese Space Program and explores the future of manned space flight in China. Based on the data available to the public, I believe that China will launch a man into space in 2003 and also develop a program to return to the moon and establish a research facility there. Using the United States Space Program of the 1960s as a model, I have examined the achievements of the Americans in reaching the moon and, looking at it from the Chinese viewpoint, have made some assumptions as to how China will use what was learned in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.
