Herbal medicine -- testing, regulations and barriers

Public

The herbal medicine industry is growing rapidly in the U.S. and European countries. Despite increased popularity, there is little evidence for efficacy or safety of herbal treatments. This MQP examines the usefulness of clinical trials for determining herbal medicine safety and efficacy. Discussions also include topics such as current regulations for herbal medicines and barriers to the acceptance of herbal medicines by the medical and scientific communities.
