Computational & Data Science Tools for Environmental Science: Butterflies 2023-2024 Group 2
Pubblico DepositedThe Beecology Project is a citizen science project that aims to monitor pollinator populations and their floral interactions. Web-based visualization tools allow users to visualize where pollinators are located, how many different species are observed, and which flowers they interact with. In this project, we expanded on existing bee visualization tools and developed new visualization tools tailored for analyzing butterfly observations using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and D3.js. We also created pages for butterfly data selection and the new visualizations. Key features we implemented across all the butterfly tools include hierarchical filters, diversity toggles, and consistent color mapping, enabling users to effectively explore and analyze the diverse number of butterfly species.
