Food choices and eating habits of WPI freshmen

Public

The goal of this study was to determine the veracity of the "freshmen fifteen phenomenon", as well as to observe the food choices and eating habits that may be contributing to freshman weight gain. Upon leaving Morgan Commons, one hundred random WPI freshmen were given a short survey asking questions about their dietary habits and weight change throughout their first year. Based on the survey results, educational resources were designed to aid freshmen in making better dietary choices.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
