Aluminophosphate host materials

Public

A variety of experimental conditions were used to synthesize aluminophosphate crystals (AlPO-5). Factors affecting crystallization were the aluminum/phosphorus ratio, amount of water, templating agent, hydrofluoric acid, aging time, heating time, temperature, and application of ultrasound. The highest percentage of AlPO-5 was obtained with: Al/P=0.5 tripropyl amine template, two hours aging, 64 hours heating at 170 C. These results and literature research suggest that higher yields of AlPO-5 will be achieved with continuous stirring of the reaction mixture.
