Multihead 3D Printer
ÖffentlichHerunterladbarer Inhalt
open in viewer3D printing is a process by which a product is built layer by layer using raw materials. Current commercial 3D printers have a relatively small print volume of 8in x 8in x 8in. Most commercial printers are also limited to a single filament per print, restricting the possibility of multicolor or multi-material models. This project worked to develop a filament-based 3D printer that utilized a larger print space than commonly available, is able to fabricate printed parts requiring two or more colors, and is capable of operating multiple hotends simultaneously. We successfully developed a 3D printer with a print volume of 36in x 18in x 9in, capable of printing one large object in multiple colors from a palette of 16 or three smaller single color models simultaneously.
