Aerosol delivery of cells for tissue engineering

Public

This project proposes a new approach for the aerosol delivery of epithelial cells to a damaged trachea using a jet-atomizer. Pluronic F-127 was implemented to help carry the cells. The viability of the cells as well as the distribution was quantified by examining Trypan blue-dyed specimens under a microscope. The success of this project means further research that could eventually lead to a better treatment for smoke-inhalation victims by allowing them to recover their lost epithelial cells.
