A new 56,000-square-foot academic building has been proposed for the WPI campus. Structural design of the building was evaluated including steel and reinforced concrete framing systems, a lateral bracing system, and a steel framed Mansard-style roof. Soils analysis and foundation design also tied the superstructure of the building with the substructure. All aspects of design were analyzed with cost in mind to produce a cost-effective design.
