This report discusses the design of a wireless data link suitable for replication by the students of ECE 3311. This transmitter/receiver combination had to operate on license free experimental radio bands and be simple to assemble by students. A 900 MHz transmitter and receiver were each developed, demonstrating several common modulation schemes. The assembly of the transmitter and receiver were seamlessly integrated into the ECE 3311 course curriculum where students successfully constructed them over a 6 week period.
