Design of an upperclassmen undergraduate residence hall for Worcester Polytechnic Institute phase 1

Public

This proposed design of an undergraduate upperclassmen residence hall at WPI, is one of two Major Qualifying Projects, that would provide on-campus living for at least 52% of its current undergraduate population. Current trends in campus planning, residence hall design, and green design were researched and implemented in the final design of a residence hall. The residence hall will allow its residents to have an improved qualify of life over the traditional college dormitory by providing suites, which included one and two-bedrooms, and will be available to meet the present undergraduate upperclassmen demand. This document discusses the basic layout of the suites and the building, and an analysis of the quality of life in the proposed structure.
