Design, analysis and testing of treadmill for older adults

Public

The project was divided into two phases. The goal of the first phase of the project was to design, construct and test a prototype treadmill that is suitable for users of advanced age. The goal of the second phase of the project was to conduct clinical testing to determine how well the device met the needs of older users. The prototype was tested as a senior center in Lowell at the approval of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) by 26 users over the age of 60. The design proved to be successful as the prototype was favorably accepted by the test group.
