Manufactured gas plant (MGP) site modeling and remediation design
PublicResidual coal tar contamination exists at a former manufactured gas plant (MGP) site in Laconia, New Hampshire, as both free-phase coal tar in the ground and dissolved contaminant plumes in the groundwater. Remedial action began at the site in 1999. This project assesses the need for additional remediation at the site for the protection of human health and the environment. Ground water modeling was performed using visual MODFLOW and an enhanced bioremediation system was designed to treat the ground water contaminant plume.
