WPI is entering a net-zero solar home in Solar Decathlon China and will partly be judged on communications - website and exposition materials about “Solatrium”. This MQP incorporated English to Chinese translation of these materials. It described the solar house, analyzed the Chinese audience, and reviewed expert advice on translation. I compared my challenges and strategies to those proposed in the literature, concluding that translation is not literal transcription; it is making persuasive and culturally appropriate adaptations for an audience.
