The objective of this project was to implement an automated inventory control system to enable greater control on the equipment distribution system for the WPI Athletics Department. We utilized business process improvement, process analysis, benchmarking and software design to improve the current distribution system. To create this new system we developed a software selection process, comparing similar school systems, to generate the most effective solution. In turn we developed a comprehensive software package and implementation strategy that empowered the Athletics Department to fully automate the distribution process.
