Road construction alternatives for TCI -- assessment of foamed asphalt & soil cement technologies

Public

Multiple designs of soil cement and asphalt emulsion were developed, focusing on the needs of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Multiple aggregates were tested and numerous samples were created. For each aggregate the gradation analysis was completed, as well as the fineness modulus, and absorption rate. The soil cement's compressive strength and the asphalt emulsion's tensile strength were determined. The approximate load capacity was calculated finding the required thickness and strength. Proposed recommendations for new pavement design.
