Characterization of a Laser Modulator

In this MQP, a JDS Uniphase Laser Modulator was prepared for use and underwent a battery of tests to determine its functionality. The tests looked for patterns of changes when each of the controlled parameters of the laser modulator were altered in order to ensure the modulator performed as expected. The testing determined that the modulator was not performing at the expected efficiency, and this MQP theorizes on the reason why along with giving recommendations as to what can be done to raise it.
