Designing a Water and Sanitation Centre Prototype for Monwabisi Park

open in viewerThe World Health Organization recognizes poor sanitation as one of the world's most common preventable risks leading to mortality, particularly in informal settings like Monwabisi Park, Cape Town. By researching the global context and current conditions, comparing sanitation system options, and defining system parameters, we created a final proposal for an experimental sanitation centre at the Indlovu Project that outlines a dry composting scheme, a facility floor plan, and specifications for on-site management, community education, and future sustainable adaptations.
