Formula SAE power train design 2003

The purpose of this project is to research, design, and construct the power train for WPI's 2003 Formula SAE race car adhering to the rules set forth by the Society of Automotive Engineers. This included selecting an engine and designing intake/exhaust systems, differential housing, wheel carrying assemblies and braking system. These components were concurrently engineered and manufactured along with the rest of the vehicle. The efforts of the entire FSAE Team resulted in the successful completion and testing of the car.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
