Recreational assistive mobility -- suitable method to transport an immobile person with the cockpit of a J/105 sailboat

Public

The purpose of this MQP was to design and manufacture a device assisting the mobility of a disabled person within the cockpit of a J/105 sailboat. The fundamentals of kinematics, axiomatic design, and stress analysis were implemented, creating a design that satisfies customer requirements. This analysis was the basis for creating a Computer Aided Design (CAD) model, which was iterated until reaching a final design. A prototype was manufactured and tested, which complied with customer requirements.
