Server-client display and monitoring software for indoor tracking

Public

In this project we designed display and monitoring software for an indoor tracking system that is capable of tracking moving objects inside a building where GPS signals are unavailable. The design consists of development of the architecture for the system and implementation of server and client application software utilizing the Java programming language. The server software runs on-site of the building where the tracking system is installed and the client software can be run anywhere using the Internet. The server software receives details of the deployment and measured metrics from the tracking system, displays the status of the connected clients in the server graphical user interface (GUI), and provides the client application with the necessary data for proper operation. The client displays the positions of the moving objects in the client GUI and allows for various user options. These options include three different methods of tracking associated with different positioning algorithms as well as multiple-object tracking.
