Eddy Pond Dam rehabilitation project

Public

Eddy Pond Dam in Auburn, Massachusetts is approximately eighty years old. It does not receive regular maintenance, and as a result is showing some signs of deterioration. Failure of the dam could result in loss of life and substantial property damage. With literature research and field data collection, the use of computer modeling software, and the application of dam design and construction standards from the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE), recommendations were developed for the repair of three components of the dam. The Town of Auburn and its consultant, Tighe & Bond, will use this report as a resource to assist in developing a rehabilitation plan to improve the safety and functionality of the dam.
