An organization seeking efficient management of a large amount of emission data, Covanta Energy Corporation sponsored a Major Qualifying Project at Worcester Polytechnic Institute to design a web-based database management system. Within this year's scope of the project, the project group developed the layout of the interfaces and the basic structure of the database system. The designs of each component in the system have been compiled into a proposal and submitted to Covanta Energy Corporation. The proposal will serve as a basis for the implementation of the project design for the next MQP team in the following academic year.
