Surviving Hong Kong: A Case Study of Areas at the Intersection of Traditional Areas and Future Development
PúblicoContenido Descargable
open in viewerThis report, prepared for the Urban Renewal Authority, details the results of a study of two areas in Hong Kong that are threatened by redevelopment: Kowloon City and Kowloon East. The individuality and unique characteristics of these areas suggest that it is worthwhile to retain their original qualities. We suggest that developers consider policies to preserve Kowloon City. We determined that 13 and 5 streets are not important enough to preserve and suggest that future redevelopment be allowed to proceed.
