High-Tech Totem Pole
PúblicoWendy Wacko, a landscape artist in the Canadian Rockies, envisions a totem pole made of glass, lit from within so that the structure changes its appearance and develops a life of its own as daylight changes. We experimented with concrete containing embedded fibers to transport light through the structure. We created a prototype 8ft. tall structure to be part of an art exhibit in the Sprinkler Factory in Worcester. Just as totem poles stand for American-Indian culture, history and mythology, our prototype reflects on WPI's innovative community.
