We developed a functional model of the life support systems used in large-scale aquariums. The model could support multiple varieties of aquatic life through the use of our filtration system. This model could be used at aquaria, museums, and/or schools. Societal benefits from this project include greater knowledge and understanding of the demands, both indigenous and artificial, placed upon a natural ecosystem. The display would also show the difficulty in reproducing and maintaining a balanced artificial ecosystem.
