Supporting Urban Beekeeping Livelihood Strategies in Cape Town
公开Underemployment is a major problem for many residents in the Cape Flats area of Cape Town. The goal of this project was to assist seven beekeepers from the Cape Flats area in forming a business to utilize their apicultural skills. We sought to accomplish this by working closely with the beekeepers to mutually learn and overcome obstacles. We were able to guide them through the production of a constitution and business plan, filing cooperative forms, obtaining a hive location, securing business agreements, developing skills and conducting their first honey sales.
