2007 formula SAE racecar

Public

This project focuses on the design and manufacturing of a Formula style race car, governed by the Formula SAE rules. The vehicle can be divided into the following systems: chassis, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and controls. Performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability were focused upon during the design of each component and system. This project utilizes concurrent engineering to effectively integrate each subsystem within the car. Project details include individual part designs and optimization as well as in-house manufacturing and assemble. Competition requirements include submission of detailed reports on design and cost, which emphasize manufacturing and global sourcing for production.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
