Cold sample isolation unit design options

Public

This project focused on developing an isolation unit to provide a clean and cold work enclosure for Martian samples. In order to preserve the integrity of the sample to be examined inside the isolation unit, three priorities were chosen. These priorities were to minimize leaks throughout the unit, to choose construction materials whose compositions do not compromise the samples, and to provide a cold environment similar in temperature to the native environment of the samples, -40 degrees F.
