Respiratory illnesses are among the leading causes of mortality globally. The COVID-19 pandemic underscores the urgent need for advanced remote patient monitoring technologies. Our project works with a novel remote wearable transcutaneous oxygen monitor that measures oxygen partial pressure through the skin, correlating with arterial levels. As a wearable sensor, it faces challenges like motion artifacts affecting accuracy. Therefore, to understand the effects of motion artifacts on the signal quality our project works to quantify the impacts of motion artifacts on this sensor. Additionally, we enhanced the device with Bluetooth Low Energy for better data transmission and a user-friendly graphic user interface, significantly improving remote monitoring capabilities and patient assessments.
