This project entailed the design of a 25 million gallon covered water storage facility to replace the existing Blue Hills Reservoir in Quincy MA. The replacement is desired by the MWRA, and was designed working with Camp Dresser & McKee. The design included two alternatives, a square reinforced concrete tank and a circular, prestressed concrete tank. The results accompany a cost estimate, investigation of site issues, a summary of conclusions, and our recommendations for which design best fits the situation.
