Study of signal recognition particle receptor

Public

The Signal Recognition Particle Receptor in the Endoplasmic Reticulum membrane involved in the co-translational pathway is the focus of this investigation. While the receptor has been sequenced, a domain of one of the subunits has an unknown structure. Several truncated forms of the protein were over expressed in E. Coli and purified. Circular Dichroism spectroscopy was used to determine the protein secondary structure of a domain of one of the subunits in the receptor.
