Two dimensional color imaging through a single mode fiber catheter

Pubblico

The goal of this project was to develop a new imaging system, using both optical coherence tomography and 2D Color imaging, for coronary plaque detection. Challenges included the focusing elements, the integration of visible and infrared components, and the electronic detection scheme. Testing revealed that a dual imaging system was unfeasible using current optical components. It is recommended that the rotary junction and catheter be redesigned to better accommodate the broad spectrum of wavelengths required for this application.
