Design, Implementation and Cost analysis of an Ultrasonic Ranging Module for Inventory Control

Public

Inventory control is perhaps the most important aspect in controlling an organization's overall manufacturing costs for both raw and finished materials. In this project, a sonar device was designed and constructed to more accurately measure the amount of raw material, plastic resin, in each of eleven silos at Laddawn Manufacturing and to account for cost savings. The project explores the accuracy of sonar as compared to existing methods already widely accepted through the plastic bag industry and demonstrates its cost effectiveness.
