This report describes the importance of optimizing steel gable frames and helps introduce new methods of computer analysis to our sponsor. Optimizing steel frames allows for the designer to create smaller frame members while still maintaining a safe structure capable of supporting the applied loads. Due to the continuing increase in the price of steel, design methods such as optimization are critical for companies and fabricators to retain competitive and provide an affordable product in today's market.
