The Centro Científico Tropical focuses on environmental education, socio-environmental projects, and biological research to preserve the ecosystem’s biodiversity in Costa Rica. We worked alongside the CCT to assess how well marginalized communities and their perspectives currently are integrated into their projects and programs. Based on extensive background research, interviews with CCT staff and marginalized groups and a focus group, we developed human rights guidelines that can be incorporated into ongoing and future CCT projects to promote equal opportunity for these marginalized communities.
