Capillar electrophoresis analysis of cations in low explosives

Public

Calibration curves of cation concentrations were developed for capillary electrophoresis spectral analysis. The concentration of a cation has a marked effect on the absorption of other cations in a sample. This effect must be considered when analyzing spectra that contain multiple cations. Identification of cations in an unburned and a burned explosive sample can be used to identify an explosive from a crime scene. A procedure for the removal of cations from a low explosive sample was developed.
