An automated parallel mapper for real-time embedded digital signal processing

Public

As multi-processor and multi-core computer architectures become mainstream, it is critical to be able to harness their power. Unfortunately, programming parallel systems is not a trivial task. This development difficulty limits the programmer audience to parallel computing experts. Group 102 at MIT Lincoln Laboratory has been developing software in MATLAB to automatically distribute or "map" data to multiple computing elements. For this project, a proof-of-concept automatic mapping engine for embedded digital signal processing was created in C++.
