Sol-Gel processing of silicate coatings on titanium alloy

Public

This project involved coating titanium alloy samples with a silicate using the sol-gel method. The main thrust of the study entailed understanding the effects of solvent and catalyst concentrations on the physical properties of the coating. The application of the coating would be in the prosthetic implant field where it may help to increase bone growth on titanium implants.
